Nearly a veteran of the UK Electronic Dance Music scene and a
musician from an early age, having learned Piano and playing
Bass Guitar in school bands. Jules career really started in 1990
when he started DJ’ing. Quickly gaining a name for himself on
the early rave scene led to playing gigs across London and
following that at legendary clubs such as Pacha and El Divino in
Ibiza. After a number of years DJing but also promoting at Nicky
Holloways Velvet Underground Club in Charring Cross, Jules moved
into the recorded side of the music business working for the
label at
Ministry of Sound, London.
After 3 years working across the business including as A&R
manager, Jules left, setting up
Lowered Recordings
Within a year of leaving Ministry Of Sound Jules put together
The
Bhangra Knights and produced their hit record ‘Husan’. This
reached No.6 on the UK Singles chart following signing to
Positiva Records.
Jules spent the following years touring Bhangra Knights with
MC Fitzgerald Fyne. Playing everywhere from Africa to Yemen, the biggest gig being for MTV Moscow to a crowd of 15,000 at the state football stadium.
Since then Jules has produced only a handfull of tracks; the classic
‘Rollin On’ featuring
his sister Abi on vocals and more recently
‘Disco Destruct’
- "a cross between
‘Tricky Disco’ & ‘Plastic Dreams’” Curtis Zack (XLR8 Magazine).
Having been hammered by DJs like Groove Armada and on Ibiza
Sonica Radio last year it was one of the hottest EDM tracks on
the island.
Quickly picked up by Ministry Of Sound
“Disco Destruct” has
since gained a huge vocal, been re-titled
"Beat Dropz"
and is set
for massive cross-over success this year on the very hot labels
above.
